High Bradfield print
£12.00
High Bradfield is a beautiful village North West of Sheffield, and close to where I live. I always thought that the scene paints itself, so I didn't need as much artistic license as I usually take! I'm pleased to say the original painting hangs in the The Old Horns Pub, which is the centrepiece here. It has a beer garden with surely the best view in Sheffield. I've also featured St Nicholas's Church which has a really interesting history, and graves dating back to the 17th century, which are explored by local sheep! Next to the church is the old Watchtower which was built so that people could guard the graves from bodysnatchers who sold the bodies to medical students for research! I've also featured Bailey Hill at the back which is the site of an old motte and bailey castle dating back to between 11th and 13th centuries.
